IWhat to watch for

The present subjunctive of venir comes from the irregular yo stem veng-: take vengo, drop the -o and add the -er/-ir endings with -a-, giving venga, vengas, venga, vengamos, vengáis and vengan.

Watch the stem: it is veng-, not ven- or vien-. Use these forms after triggers of wish, doubt or purpose such as espero que, quiero que, es mejor que, ojalá and para que.
