IWhat to watch for

Good news: venir is completely regular in the imperfect. Take the stem ven- and add the -ir endings: venía, venías, venía, veníamos, venían — every form carries an accent on the í.

Use it for repeated visits (venía todos los jueves) and for arrivals in progress: yo venía del trabajo cuando empezó a llover takes venía, not vine, because the trip was still under way when the rain interrupted it.
