Venir Preterite Practice

Venir (to come) in the preterite: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesIrregularA1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

Venir has a fully irregular preterite built on the stem vin-: vine, viniste, vino, vinimos, vinieron. Like its twin tener (tuve), it takes the irregular endings -e and -o with no written accents — viné and vinó are always wrong.

The classic decision is vine vs venía: use vine for a completed arrival at a specific time. And keep an eye on venimos vs vinimos, where a single vowel separates present from past.
