Salir Imperfect Practice

Salir (to leave, to go out) in the imperfect: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

IWhat to watch for

The imperfect of salir is fully regular: sal- plus the -ir endings gives salía, salías, salía, salíamos, salíais, salían. Every form carries an accented í, and yo and él/ella share the same form, salía.

The real challenge is choosing the imperfect over the preterite: use salía for habits and routines (cuando era niño, todos los domingos), and salí for one completed exit. If the subject isn't stated, remember that salía on its own could be either yo or él.
