Volver Imperfect Practice

Volver (to return, to come back) in the imperfect: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesStem-changing o→ueA1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

Volver is regular in the imperfect, keeping the stem volv- with no vowel change at all: volvía, volvías, volvía, volvíamos, volvíais, volvían. Every form carries an accent on the í.

Use these forms for repeated past habits and background scenes — what someone used to do or was doing. Watch that volvía covers both yo and él/ella, so an explicit subject is what tells them apart.
