Volver Present Practice

Volver (to return, to come back) in the present: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesStem-changing o→ueA1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

Volver is a classic o→ue stem-changing verb in the present tense: the o of the stem becomes ue in vuelvo, vuelves, vuelve, and vuelven. Only nosotros (volvemos) and vosotros (volvéis) keep the original o, because in those forms the stress falls on the ending, not the stem.

Also watch for volver a + infinitive, which means to do something again — vuelvo a leer is 'I read again', not 'I return to read'. These exercises mix both meanings so you learn to spot each one.
