Sentir (to feel, to be sorry) in the imperfect: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesStem-changing e→ieA1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

The imperfect of sentir is completely regular: take the stem sent- and add the -ir imperfect endings — sentía, sentías, sentía, sentíamos, sentíais, sentían. There is no stem change at all, so the e stays put in every form.

Use it for feelings and sensations that were ongoing, habitual or in the background — what someone used to feel or was feeling. Watch that sentía covers both yo and él/ella, so the subject must be clear from the sentence.
