IWhat to watch for

Sal is one of the eight short irregular tú commands — three letters, no ending, no accent. Learners often produce sale instead, which is the present tense and cannot give an order.

The remaining forms come from the g of the yo form salgo: no salgas, salga, salgamos, salgan. Notice that the d of saldré and saldría plays no part in the imperative: it is salga, never saldga. With a pronoun the tú command becomes salte or sal de ahí, keeping its single syllable.
