Querer Present Subjunctive Practice

Querer (to want, to love) in the present subjunctive: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesStem-changing e→ieB1 – B2 level
IWhat to watch for

In the present subjunctive, querer keeps the e→ie stem change of the present: quiera, quieras, quiera and quieran change the stem, while queramos and queráis keep the plain e. The endings are the -er subjunctive set: -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an.

Because querer normally triggers the subjunctive itself, here it usually lives in a subordinate clause after expressions like ojalá, espero que, no creo que, para que, or a future-looking cuando: ojalá quieras venir, no creo que quiera ir. Watch the nosotros form — it is queramos, never quieramos.
