Dejar (to leave, to let, to stop (doing)) in the preterite: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

•14 exercises•Regular -ar•A1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

Dejar is regular in the preterite: dejé, dejaste, dejó, dejamos, dejasteis, dejaron. The accent separates dejó (he left) from dejo (I leave), and dejamos is the same in the present and the preterite.

The preterite tells what was left behind on one occasion (dejé las llaves dentro del coche), who left whom (su novio la dejó), what someone was allowed to do (al final me dejaron ir) and when a habit stopped: mi abuelo dejó de fumar en 1990.
