Poner Present Practice

Poner (to put, to place) in the present: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

IWhat to watch for

In the present tense, poner is regular everywhere except one form: yo pongo. After that surprise g, the verb follows the normal -er pattern — pones, pone, ponemos, ponen — built straight on the stem pon-.

The biggest trap is dragging the g where it does not belong: pongo is the only present form that has it, so invented forms like 'ponges' or 'ponge' are never right. These exercises also work poner's everyday range — setting the table, putting things away, playing music, paying attention.
