Hablar Conditional Practice

Hablar (to speak, to talk) in the conditional: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

•14 exercises•Regular -ar•B1 – B2 level
IWhat to watch for

The conditional of hablar takes the whole infinitive plus the -ía endings: hablaría, hablarías, hablaría, hablaríamos, hablaríais, hablarían. Every form carries an accent on the í, and the yo and él forms are identical, so the subject often has to be said.

Three uses cover almost every sentence: advice (yo que tú, hablaría con ella), hypotheses with si + imperfect subjunctive (si supiera ruso, hablaría con él) and the future seen from the past (prometió que hablaría con el jefe). Don't confuse hablaría with hablaba — the imperfect says what used to happen, not what would happen.
