Estar Present Perfect Practice

Estar (to be (state)) in the present perfect: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesIrregularB1 – B2 level
IWhat to watch for

Estar builds its present perfect the easy way: haber plus the regular participle estado. He estado, has estado, ha estado — the accents of estás and está disappear completely, and estado never changes for gender or number.

Two patterns are worth drilling here. He estado en + place is how Spanish says I have been to somewhere (he estado en Lisboa, not he ido a). And he estado + gerund describes an activity that has filled recent time: los albañiles han estado trabajando desde el lunes. Keep haber and the participle together: nunca he estado, never he nunca estado.
