Dormir Conditional Practice

Dormir (to sleep) in the conditional: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesStem-changing o→ueB1 – B2 level
IWhat to watch for

Dormir changes its stem twice elsewhere — duermo in the present, durmió in the preterite — and neither change reaches the conditional. The stem is the plain infinitive: dormiría, dormirías, dormiría, dormiríamos, dormiríais, dormirían. Duermiría does not exist.

Add a pronoun and the meaning shifts: dormir is to sleep, but dormirse is to fall asleep, and me dormiría en cinco minutos means I would drop off in five minutes. Dormir la siesta and dormir del tirón (to sleep right through) are the phrases worth carrying away from this page.
