Conocer Imperfect Practice

Conocer (to know (people, places)) in the imperfect: 14 free exercises with an explanation after every answer, plus the full conjugation table.

14 exercisesIrregular yoA1 – A2 level
IWhat to watch for

Conocer is regular in the imperfect: the stem conoc- takes the -er imperfect endings conocía, conocías, conocía, conocíamos, conocíais, conocían. Every form carries a written accent on the í.

Use it for a state you were already in — knowing a person, place or fact before another moment. Ya conocía la ciudad = I already knew the city. Compare it with the preterite conocí, which instead marks the first meeting.
